From cowboy songs to spirituals and music depicting characters from ballerinas to construction workers, the IPO Woodwind Quintet’s ‘Summer Songs and Dances’ will have you toe-tapping and humming along. The program combines American and Latin American composers. “Quintet No. 2” explores the colors and sounds that emerge when singing and instrumental timbers combine, requiring the players to sing and play, though not at the same time!
